As a homeschooling family, one of the milestones of our year and the true mark of the start of summer (at least for me as the teacher) is portfolio review day. Both the kids’ school portfolios were reviewed today through our umbrella school and in my book, the school year is officially closed.
The garden is ready to start summer, too. All but one cabbage has been harvested, and last week, a few new additions were made:
Bush variety cucumbers now reside beside the bush beans and eggplant…
…and yellow bush variety squash hang out beside the peppers.
I think it’s safe to say I have stocked the Grow Camp with all that I can possibly fit in there at this point (probably too much.) The garden is officially ready for summer, too.
The mailman was even kind enough to deliver my summer reading today.
These will accompany me to the seashore (if I can resist the urge to read them cover to cover before we leave.)
Let the summer begin! I’m ready!
Concgrats to you!!! Enjoy your summer.
Cynthia
Thanks, Cynthia. You too! 🙂
Welcome, Summer!

I am so glad I saw this post and those books! On my reading list as of now 🙂 Congratulations on finishing your school year!
Thanks! The books are great – I confess – I have started reading them both. I couldn’t resist!

Thanks, Jo! It’s always nice to be able to slide those portfolios on the shelf…I know you understand!!
