About

Hi there! Iโ€™m Becky.
Iโ€™m a Christian
Mom and Dad laid the foundation when I was a kid, then I made a renewed commitment to Jesus as a Junior in highschool through Young Life. As I plan my course in life, I rejoice that the Lord determines my steps (Proverbs 16:9).

I Garden
I have a passion for preparing organic, healthy, whole foods. Gardening has been a fun extension of that desire. While it’s just two small raised bed gardens, it still delights me to stroll out into my backyard and come back in with the makings for a salad or dinner in my hands.

I’m in the Kitchen A LOT
Whether I’m baking in it, cooking in it, or just cleaning it, I’m in the kitchen quite a bit. I like making things from scratch, menu planning, and fermentation/probiotics.

I Homeschooled
Our family homeschooled for 14 years. We used an eclectic/textbook approach along with participation in a private school diploma program. My son is a Virginia Tech computer engineering graduate working as a Junior Software Developer, and my daughter is a University of Delaware fine arts graduate and an Assistant Display Designer for Anthropologie.

Our Family
I have two adult children, a daughter born in 2003 and a son born in 2001. Iโ€™ve been married to my supportive, loving husband for 30 years. In 2012, we welcomed a rescue named Fluffy the cat, and his exploits are included throughout this blog. Fluffy crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023, and our daughter brought two rescues into the fold, a tiger striped tabby named Goose and a buff tabby named Penny.

Our family has also enjoyed exploring national parks. So far, we’ve visited Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Acadia, Zion, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Rocky Mountain, and Yosemite. We eagerly await our next adventure.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoy your stay! When you’re done having a look see, join me elsewhere on the web…

  1. Becky, this site looks amazing! I’m not much of a garden-lover, but my wife has been changing me over the years. And, since my wife just got a full time job, I’m doing more of the cooking. I’ll be visiting your site for the easier recipes to see if this cooking healthy thing can catch on with me. Thanks.

    1. Thanks so much for dropping by and commenting, Dave! And what a nice compliment! I hope my little blog has an opportunity to inspire you!

  2. Hi there! Welcome to “Blessings through raindrops”! I am honored to have you following my blog. When I first saw your name, I thought I had made a mistake, and started following my own blog :)….but, hey! we have something in common.
